Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Compassionate, person-centered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners wanted for a new outpatient mental health practice intent on serving the community, closing service gaps and providing a pleasant, positive environment both for treatment and for work.

Part time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners with two plus years’ experience needed for an agency serving mental health clients in Highland Mills, Orange County, New York-- 3 miles from the Woodbury Commons Outlets. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, counseling and medication management services to Beacon Place Mental Health Center adult, adolescent and child clients with mental health and behavioral health issues.  The PMHNP will order and/or examine required laboratory and diagnostic tests related to mental health treatment; will prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in accordance with New York State and federal guidelines. The PMHNP will participate in the interdisciplinary team for treatment plan design or revision; collaborate with counselors, social workers, or other treatment team members, both internal and external to Beacon Place Mental Health Center, to coordinate client care; collaborate with guardians, relatives, and significant others on client’s conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate.  NYS licensure and experience with psychopharmacology is required.  Bilingual, especially in Spanish or Yiddish, is a plus but not required.
